Dole’s Yonanas –healthy dessert maker

I recently came across a dessert maker that I just had to share with you. It is an exciting new product that’s hugely popular in America that has finally made its debut in Singapore.

Do you love ice cream but loathe the adverse effect it has on your waistline? Are you vegan or lactose intolerant, and deprived of the creamy icy goodness that ice cream has to offer? Dole’s Yonanas churns out non-dairy ‘ice cream’ that will satiate your cravings healthily.

The revolutionary dessert maker turns frozen fruits into a creamy, delicious cold dessert –you’re in for a stunning new taste experience.

Snacks needn’t be your diet downfall –healthy options include the colourful and vast range of fruits. But, what happens when you don’t consume them before they over-ripen? You end up throwing them away. With the Yonanas maker, there will be no more wastage. All you have to do is peel the skin (not necessary for most fruits) and freeze, and they are ready to be Yonanas-ed.

Using ripe babanas as a base is optimal for a smooth, creamy texture that is similar to ice cream.

When it comes to flavour combinations, the possibilities are endless.

To up the ante, you can pair your favourite fruits with chocolate, peanut butter, honey, nuts, etc.

I like how it is safe, easy to operate and fun.

The Yonanas maker is of a similar size to that of a blender; its individual components are easy to disassemble for washing.

Using just frozen raspberries and banana, this dessert tastes better than any store-bought sorbets I’ve had.

For the adventurous, you can experiment with local Asian favourites such as durian or jackfruit, which will also give that luscious, smooth texture.

We also experimented with frozen strawberries, raspberries, mango and pineapple.

By employing a crude method of trial and error, fruits you never thought would go well together may surprisingly turn out to be your favourite combination.

Everything tastes better with Oreo. This is Yonana’s version of ‘Cookies & Cream’ ice cream.

The Yonanas maker is available at Best Denki stores, NTUC outlets including all NTUC Finest and NTUC Xtra Stores, as well as SunMoon stores at a recommended retail price of $118.
