(Lunar New Year 2014) Din Tai Fung – Taiwan Songshan Pineapple Cakes

Years of house-hopping and pineapple tart-nibbling has given you the opportunity to taste diverse versions of that ubiquitous snack, and find exactly what fits your palate best: open-faced pineapple tart, the kind with pastry entirely encasing the pineapple jam filling within, the melt-in-the-mouth buttery sort, the light and fluffy variant, the dense and heavy version, or the slightly crisp one that are rather rare.

After being introduced to Din Tai Fung’s Taiwan Songshan Pineapple Cakes, I instantly fell in love and have now included it in my top favourites.

Taiwan Songshan Pineapple Cakes ($7.50 for box of 3pcs/$23.80 for box of 10pcs)

Din Tai Fung’s Taiwan Songshan Pineapple Cakes are air-flown from Taiwan, where they’re freshly baked and wrapped individually to maintain freshness.

The fragrant and crumbly pastry encases a sweet and fruity paste made of Songshan pineapples that are famed for their aroma and low acidity. You’d also be glad to know that this treat is free from preservatives and trans-fat.

Din Tai Fung’s Taiwan Songshan Pineapple Cakes are available for takeaway only at selected Din Tai Fung outlets: Paragon, Resorts World Sentosa, Marina Bay Sands, BreadTalk IHQ, Suntec City, Tampines Mall and Jurong Point.

Diners receive a complimentary packet of specially designed red packets with a minimum spend of $40 (while stocks last).

News: Din Tai Fung opens its 18th outlet at Bedok Mall, located on basement 1, with a seating capacity of 156.
