April’s Easter Delights Afternoon Tea Experience at Mandarin Oriental Singapore, Axis Bar and Lounge

Afternoon tea is always an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an afternoon, engaging in candid conversations over a leisurely pot of tea accompanied by delectable snacks. Axis Bar and Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Singapore serves up dainty savoury canapés and sweet treats from 3pm to 5pm daily. Items in its afternoon tea set refreshes monthly, hence guests have something new to look forward to each month.

This April, the limelight is on Easter. Brace your palates for saccharine sweet cupcake toppers in the shape of bunnies, chocolaty “eggs in a basket”, and savoury ham and green pea pie inspired by Easter.

The ambience at the beautifully stylish Axis Bar and Lounge is conducive to the pampering experience. The welcoming and spacious setting comes furnished with plush armchairs and cosy sofas. Mention-worthy is the splendid unobstructed views of the Marina Bay.

Adding to the ambience are sublime piano melodies, playing live in the background, serenading discerning listeners throughout the afternoon.

Cherry Blossoms Champagne Jelly

The afternoon tea session commences on a light and refreshing note with the champagne-infused Cherry Blossoms Jelly –pretty in baby pink, imparting a subtle floral scent.

Next, a trio of canapés arrive: Poached Lobster with Coriander Mango Salsa, Carbonara Eggs en Cocotte, and Duck Rilette & Foie Gras Terrine. It was hard to pick a favourite out of the three –they are equally delightfully!

Sandwiches arrive in bite-sized doses: Egg Salad Sandwich with Watercress, Bresaola & Gem Lettuce Mini Wrap with Cheddar, Lump Crabmeat & Avocado Sandwich and Cucumber & Cream Cheese Sandwich.

Fill the tummy with the savoury Easter Ham & Green Pea Pie and Chicken & Potato Turnover that bear gorgeous golden brown crusts.

Not forgetting the requisite scones that afternoon tea sessions are not complete without. Here, they come in two flavours: Strawberry Yoghurt Scone and Citrus Peel & Tahitian Vanilla Scone –accompanied by jams and clotted cream.

No traces of the all-time Easter favourite hot cross buns though.

Desserts include Blueberry Mini Gateau, Sable Fruit Tart and Fancy Macaron –so pretty to admire, we almost couldn’t bear to eat.

What is Easter without bunnies and eggs? Those with a sweet tooth will approve of the Easter Cupcake.

The Easter Delights Afternoon Tea at Axis Bar and Lounge will be available daily throughout the month of April, from 3pm to 5pm, at $42++ per person or $80++ for two persons. Pricing includes complimentary flow of Mariage Freres and TWG teas of your choice.
