The Gourmet Burger Bonanza features six tantalising mini burgers made from fresh, premium burger patties, served on a toasted Ciabatta bun with a range of homemade sauces and fresh toppings.
For a complete set, you get to choose two favourites out of the six mini burgers, with Musclun salad and thick-cut fries served alongside, to make up a satisfying and affordable meal that costs only $12.90.
You can opt to top up an additional $3.50 for a Vanilla Milkshake, $2.40 for a Soup of the Day, or both!
Spicy Chicken Burger and All American Beef Burger with Pepper Sauce ($12.90)
Safe choices include the Spicy Chicken Burger and the All American Beef Burger with Pepper Sauce –classic ingredients that you won’t go wrong with. I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken Burger for its crispy breaded crust and succulent meat beneath.
Lamb Burger with Mango Chutney and Turkey & Tomato Salsa Burger ($12.90)
For the adventurous, the Lamb Burger with Mango Chutney boasts unique flavour combinations that will intrigue your taste buds.
The use of turkey is quite a rarity in burgers, and if poorly executed, they may turn out dry. Swensen’s does a fine job in retaining moisture in the patty for a succulent finish.
Crab Burger with Honey Mustard Sauce and Prawn Peach Salsa Burger ($12.90)
The Crab Burger with honey Mustard Sauce and the Prawn Peach Salsa Burger are my top picks.
The Crab Burger comprises fresh crabmeat imbued with beautiful flavours, concealed in a crisp crust. The luscious honey mustard sauce pairs perfectly with the patty.
The Prawn Peach Salsa Burger is composed of fresh prawns and topped with a lip-smacking sauce with diced peach. The crunchy chunks of prawns within the patty pleasantly surprised me as I was expecting them to be finely minced.
Clam Chowder Soup
Soups are served in a toasted sourdough breadbowl. The Mushroom Soup ($8.90), made with fresh Shitake and button mushrooms, is a must-have!
Dessert
Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Hazelnut Cappuccino Mudpie
The Hazelnut Cappuccino Mudpie is a must-try! It is an alluring combination of Hazelnut and Cappuccino ice cream layered with Chocolate Brownie, drizzled with hot caramel, topped with a chocolate-coated cherry and finished off with a sprinkle of diced almonds.
Ice Cream & Dessert Buffet
You can’t leave Swensen’s without having ice cream. At the Ion Orchard outlet, you can enjoy the Eat-All-You-Can Ice Cream & Dessert Buffet, priced at $18.90++ or $12.90++ with an order of any main course.
Here’re some pictures of the spread:
There are over 50 flavours of ice cream, gelatos and sorbets to choose from, and the picture above shows only two-thirds of it.
I tried the Hazelnut, Blackforest, Cookes & Cheesecake, Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Lychee Gelato, Soursop Gelato and Pink Pamelo Gelato, and I loved them all!
There’s a wide range of toppings and sauces to go with your ice cream.
Apart from ice cream, a selection of desserts are available to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Profiterole
I love the Oreo Cheesecake!
Opera Cake
Cookies
The endless flowing of luscious chocolate will satiate your chocolate cravings.
Wait… there’s white chocolate fondue as well???! That is a revelation.
For a first-timer, I had a hard time locating the outlet at ION Orchard. It is located close to Forever21, beside Popeyes.
I will definitely head down to Swensen’s again for more! Anyone wants to join me?
