Backyard@Dempsey is a stone’s throw away from the commercial bustle of the Orchard enclave, sitting in a quaint little nook just off the fringe of the Dempsey catchment of F&B establishments.

Set amidst lush foliage, Backyard is laidback and unpretentious; it is tranquil by day and atmospheric by night.

Cream of Shitake Mushroom ($6.30)

Spam Fries ($9.80)

Ayam Goreng Kunyit ($2.10 per pc)

BBQ-ed Chicken Wings ($2.10 per pc)

Caesar Salad with Breaded Fish ($13.80)

Chargrilled Vegetables with Truffle Oil ($13.80)

Aubergine, tomatoes, zucchini, shitake musshrooms, green & red peppers grilled and drizzled with truffle oil

Dressed Up Dog ($14.80)

Bacon, melted cheddar cheese and sunny side up egg

Kronenbourg Beer Battered Fish & Chips ($14.30)

My favourite item would be the Kronenbourg Beer Battered Fish & Chips –crisp on the outside, tender and moist on the inside.

Trio of Mini Burgers ($19.80)

I wouldn’t recommend the Trio of Mini Burgers. The patties turned out dry.

Grilled Chicken Spaghetti ($12.80)

The Grilled Chicken Spaghetti disappointed with dry and tough chicken pieces. If not for that, this dish was rather enjoyable with the creamy sauce and the hint of spice.

Honey Walnut Panna Cotta ($7.30)

For dessert, order the Honey Walnut Panna Cotta. It left an impression, and till date I still remember how much I loved it when I first tasted it in September 2012.

Blueberry Panna Cotta ($7.30)

If you prefer something fruity, go for the Blueberry Panna Cotta, but the aforementioned Honey Walnut Panna Cotta has gotten my vote.
