What better way to spend a weekend after a gruelling stressful week at work, than with Mother Nature herself? If you’re looking for a mini getaway, a day trip out of Singapore to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life, you can consider exploring Zenxin Organic Park in Kluang, Malaysia, an hour and a half’s drive from Singapore.
By the way doesn’t the name “Zenxin Organic Food” ring a bell? I can imagine enthusiastic nods from the health-conscious group. Its label is ubiquitous at leading supermarkets in Singapore.

Zenxin Organic Food is Malaysia’s leading producer, distributor and retailer for organic produce. It was founded in 2001 and was first introduced to Singapore in 2007. Its whole production chain is certified organic by NASAA, the trustworthy National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia. Today, the farm harvests 6 tonnes of fresh organic produce daily and supplies over 100 varieties of fresh organic fruits and vegetables to supermarkets.
Zenxin Organic Park is where you can experience country life, learn more about organic and sustainable farming, participate in farm-related activities and enjoy fresh farm-to-table fare at its restaurant. It would be a popular destination for students, families, farming enthusiasts, health food enthusiasts and more.
The scenic 100-acre park comprises a greenhouse area (vegetable farm), dragon fruit farm, herbs garden, rabbit feeding area, mulberry farm, a viewing pavilion, mushroom house, organic shop, flower nursery and restaurant.
Complimentary guided farm tours are conducted daily at 9.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm. Each tour lasts about 30 minutes.
They’re also offering a guided group park tour with an in-house tour guide upon reservation with a minimum of 20 per group.
Visitors can choose to explore on their own by foot or on bicycle; walk under the 700m-long Atap corridor and the 600m-long rain-sheltered walkway, or rent a bicycle and cycle around the park. (I recommend both!) Self-exploration can take place anytime from 9am to 7pm.
Witness how farmers grow and produce organically without chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Tropical fruits include passion fruit, papaya, pineapple and more.

To encourage biodiversity, Zenxin also leaves 10% of its farmland that’s unused to create a vibrant natural habitat for insects and other living things. This controls pests in the farms as well. Another measure Zenxin takes to control pests naturally without the use of pesticides is by practicing crop rotation and growing crops in netted and sheltered areas.
Rest your weary legs and quench your thirst at the pavilion or café, where you can enjoy fresh fruits and juices.

Signature dishes include the Samsui Chicken, Fried Pumpkin, Crispy Kailan and a personal favourite, the Dragon Fruit Fish.
