Mid-Autumn Festival means differently to each of us. To some, it means spending quality time with loved ones, enjoying one another’s company while nibbling on mooncakes, sipping on tea, admiring the full moon and watching the kids parading the streets with colourful lanterns.
Four Seasons Hotel Singapore‘s Jiang-Nan Chun’s selection of mooncakes appeals to those who seek sophistication and finesse this Mid-Autumn Festival. Boasting a luxury appeal, the assortment of traditional baked and snowskin mooncakes involve a harmonious play on savoury and sweet notes.
Black Sesame with Silver Lotus Seed Paste and Walnuts Baked Mooncake ($63 for 4 pieces)
Among the traditionally baked mooncake selection, the Black Sesame with Silver Lotus Seed Paste and Walnuts Baked Mooncake makes a strong comeback, mesmerising with an intense nutty flavour juxtaposing crunchy walnut bits.
Newly emerging into the scene is the Assorted Nuts with Kaffir Lime and BBQ Chicken Baked Mooncake ($65 for 4 pieces) that’s densely packed with texturally contrasting ingredients that deliver a savoury piquancy.
Snowskin mooncakes demonstrate the culinary team’s finesse in more ways than one.
Hazelnut Royaltine and Milk Tea Snowskin Mooncake ($58 for 8 pieces)
Bound to win the hearts of dessert lovers, the Hazelnut Royaltine and Milk Tea Snowskin Mooncake comes with a fragrant and smooth milk tea infused paste studded with crunchy hazelnut royaltine (crushed biscuits).
The silver honey lotus paste and yolk snowskin mooncake ($58 for 8 pieces) incorporates gold honey into the lotus paste for a different dimension of natural sweetness in contrast with the saltiness of the yolk.
Packaged in an elegant red and gold textured box, the mooncakes are available at Jiang-Nan Chun from 7 August to 8 September 2014. Prices start from $58 for a set of 8 snowskin mooncakes and $62 for a set of four baked mooncakes.
With a minimum order of 200 boxes, guests will enjoy a 20% bulk discount. A delivery charge of $50 per location applies based on a minimum order of 50 boxes.
Shoppers heading to Ngee Ann City may also order the mooncakes at the Jiang-Nan Chun mooncake booth from 10.30am to 9.30pm daily.
