Mesmerised by the beauty of Boracay, the next step is to find a suitable accommodation to meet your individual needs and budgets.
Here are some of the recommended resorts in no particular order.
1) Boracay Regency
I would recommend Boracay Regency for its prime location, smacked in the middle of Boracay’s long stretch of white sand beach at Station 2. Step out of the resort premises and white sandy beaches greet you. The bustling night market happens along the long path between the beach and the resort, and further down the road is the popular D’Mall, an outdoor maze of shops, which offers countless of souvenirs, accessories and apparels. Grab basic needs at the most affordable prices from the Budget Mart, which is also just a few minutes walk away from Boracay Regency.
There are a total of 285 rooms at Boracay Regency, offering 12 different room types. The Deluxe Room that I stayed in is spacious and well appointed; it comes with a balcony overlooking the garden.
Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access is available in the hotel lobby; charges apply for in-room Internet access.
The bathroom is so spacious it could fit another bed. #JustSaying.
Take advantage of their value-for-money packages, which includes round-trip transfers (via Caticlan) and meals at the Sea Breeze Café. Their Regency Luxury Packages come with the luxuriously appointed Junior or East Suits, daily use of the VIP lounge, complimentary meals and round-trip land and sea transfers via Caticlan. This deal may also be coupled with a relaxing experience at the Kai Regency Spa.

2) Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel
Also along the white sand beach at Station 2, a few minutes walk away from Boracay Regency, is Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel.
Guests staying in the poolside rooms on the ground floor are likely to be affected by the noise level coming from the lively nightlife, but party animals will be delighted by the fact that the bars are just a few steps away.
Hotel guests get to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access.
The utterly romantic Penthouse Suite, located on the top floor of the hotel, offers a beautiful view of the Sulu Sea.

3) 7Stones Boracay Suites
7Stones Boracay Suites is situated on Bulabog Beach, on the east side of the island, an area most known for offering water sports activities. Guests of 7Stones Boracay Suites are in for a treat –they have the option of being a front-row spectator or a participant of the adventurous sea activities.
Leisure activities are offered throughout the year, facilitated by a selection of establishments that rent out top-quality gears. Kite boarding and windsurfing are two popular water sports in the area.
Stunning designer suites are paired with breath-taking sights, with 5 room-types available: Superior Room (40sq.m), Junior Suite (87-99sq.m), Deluxe Suite (72sq.m), Grand Deluxe Suite (112sq.m) and Family Suite (161-164sq.m).
All rooms at 7Stones Boracay Suites offer a living and dining room area and a large balcony, except Superior rooms. The one-bedroom Junior Suite comes with a large en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan dining and a large living room area fitted with a 40-inch LCD TV.
The Deluxe Suite is designed with luxury and style in mind, perfect for couples and honeymooners. This spacious one-bedroom studio apartment encompasses a king size bed with a large en-suite bathroom accompanied by a Jacuzzi tub, a flat screen TV with home theatre, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a balcony overlooking the ocean.

Incredibly impressed by the whole package, I’m not surprised that 7Stones Boracay Suites has earned the winning title for Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2013.

4) Fairways & Bluewater Newcoast Boracay
Yet another noteworthy resort, the Fairways & Bluewater Newcoast Boracay spans across an expansive 150-hectare piece of land. Apart from housing the stunning villas, a segment is used for recreation activities such as horseback riding, Segway, zipline and more.
Within its premises are three private swimming pools, one of which is considered the largest freshwater pool on the island.
Also worth mentioning is its private white sand beaches that offer guests privacy and exclusivity, minus the crowd.
Fairways & Bluewater Newcoast Boracay is also a golf destination; part of their landscape is an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course –the only fairway in Boracay.
The resort offers over 300 rooms in a quiet and secure environment, with 7 room types available: Superior, Premiere, Junior Suite, Executive Suite, One-Bedroom Suite, Two-Bedroom Suite and Chairman’s Suite. Wireless Internet access is subject to charges.
The spacious One-Bedroom Suite comes with a dining area and a living room.
The 268-sqm Chairman’s Suite offers a panoramic view of the golf course. It comes with 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining area with table for 6, 3 smart TVs, and a spacious balcony.
The huge premises may seem like a pain to navigate your way around, but thankfully the resort thoughtfully provides 24-hour shuttle service inside the resort. They also provide transportation to and fro the popular shopping area, D’Mall, every hour until 10pm.

5) Discovery Shores Boracay
Discovery Shores Boracay sits strategically along the stretch of Boracay’s White Beach, offering 88 suites of 5 types –the Junior Suite, One-Bedroom Suite, One-Bedroom Suite Premier, Two-Bedroom Suite and the Two-Bedroom Suite Premier.
This hotel’s close proximity to Boracay’s White Beach does not rob you of your privacy; it also does not come with the boisterous vibes of the nightlife. Its secure and serene environ makes for a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Already nestled in a prime location, Discovery Shores Boracay elevates the level of convenience by providing complimentary shuttle services.
The modern and elegant furnishings are a huge draw.
Its distinct features are the large glass walls that allow plenty of natural light to stream into the rooms.

6) Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa
As we traverse across the sea, we spotted some really alluring villas interspersed amidst lush foliage, sitting atop varying heights on a hill.
Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa is my dream accommodation and also one of my top picks in Boracay.
I have to say that every hotel under the Shangri-La brand never fails to dazzle me, but exposing myself to the magnificence of this particular resort in Boracay… it has left me dumbfounded with utter exhilaration and multiplied desires.
Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa, opened in 2009, is the first and only five-star international deluxe resort to open on the famed island.
Its remote location does not equate to inaccessibility. The resort provides complimentary shuttle services to and fro D’Mall and Church.
Sprawled across a vast 12-hectare land are 219 rooms including 36 villas and suites. Exclusive to guests are two private beachfronts and a myriad of recreational activities.
Each Pool Villa comes with a private lap pool, a pergola for outdoor dining, an outdoor shower, and a daybed for relaxation. These villas are ideal for family vacations.
Intimately perched amidst the forested hillside, the two-storey Loft Villa comes with a master’s bedroom on one level and on the other level are the living room, pantry, a lap pool and a gazebo.

The luxury of first-class facilities and conveniences extends beyond its premises. What used to be a tedious series of air, land and water transfers has been refined to an unrivalled experience of comfort and exclusivity. Upon landing, guests are received by a representative and escorted to a private lounge where welcome refreshments await. A mere fifteen-minute cruise ride on Shangri-La’s speedboat stands between the exclusive jetty port area and paradise.
Guests will no longer have to endure communal boat rides at a public pier and lengthy land transfers.
