Girls’ Day Out with Haagen-Dazs

It is no mystery why my fondness for Haagen-Dazs ice cream is unceasing.

They use the best ingredients, starting with cream of the highest quality, fresh from the dairy, and source the finest vanilla beans from Madagascar, the richest chocolate from Belgium and the most flavourful macadamia nuts from Hawaii.

I love how each scoop of ice cream is consistently dense, creamy and slow melting; the ingredients are blended gently with minimal air for that result.

The hot boys of six & seven were ironically invited to the ‘Girls’ Day Out’ event featuring The High Tea Affair, and I, being the ice-cream fanatic, found no reason to decline their invitation!

The High Tea Affair is available at all Haagen-Dazs outlets nationwide, from 27th March 2012 to 31st May 2012.

The outlet is bedecked in pretty tones of pink and red, eliciting femininity and romance.

Despite the girly theme, boys need their share of desserts too, and bonding sessions!

High Tea Affair

High Tea Affair ($38++)

The High Tea Affair comes in 3 tiers of sweet delights:

On the top tier lies 3 mini scoops each of Cookie Dough Chip, Belgian Chocolate and Strawberry ice cream.

The Belgian Chocolate is a classic favourite that I’d normally purchase at stores.

The bottommost tier consists of kiwis, raspberries and grapes; I’m quite baffled why anyone would go to Haagen-Dazs for fruits though!

The highlight of the High Tea Affair is the middle tier; 6 delicate ice cream macaroons. The deceptive macaroons are made entirely of ice cream! Everything just melts in the mouth.

Petite Temptations ($18++)

If you love cookies, the Petite Temptations will bring you glad tidings with chunks of buttery cookie dough and sweet fudge chips hidden in folds of the luxurious Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, sitting snugly on a chocolate chip cookie, and finished off with drizzles of tangy mango sauce.

Drinkable Ice Cream/Sorbets

Raspberry Sorbet

If the huge variety of flavours available has sent you into a state of bewilderment, the Caramel Biscuit makes an excellent base for milkshakes, and is my personal favourite!
