“Pandastic” Mixed Fruit Cake ($45 for 1KG, 20cm diameter)

Cuteness overload.

Climbing to the top of the tree… oops! I mean climbing to the top of the ‘cutest Christmas cake’ chart this season is… Crystal Jade’s “Pandastic” Mixed Fruit Cake!

This one certainly brought a huge smile to my face. I’m a sucker for all things cute.

This innocent-looking doe-eyed panda is something many kids will beg their parents for! But it is not only the kids who will go gaga over this. This cake will inundate the young, AND the young-at-hearts, with boundless delight.

Decked out in milk chocolate “eyes” and Oreo cookies “ears” on snowy-white fresh cream to resemble a cheery panda, underneath the adorable facade is a light vanilla sponge cake jazzed up with fruits such as fresh strawberries, canned pineapples or canned peach, depending on availability.

They also added a festive touch to this cake with seasonal colours of green and red surrounding the dome-shaped cake.

Crystal Jade’s Christmas menu can be found at www.crystaljade.com and at Crystal Jade My Bread outlets. Last day for orders is Saturday, 29 December 2012, before noon, for take-away on 1 January 2013.

Diners can place their orders three days in advance of collection. They can also call the Crystal Jade hotline at 6512-0800 Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 6pm (excluding public holidays). Pick-up can be made between 11am to 7pm.
