DIO Burger at The Grandstand blatantly pits itself against neighbouring Omakase Burger, vying for superiority in matters of burgers.
While it’s still too early to determine if DIO Burger will succeed in surpassing Omakase Burger and seize its crowning glory, we do recognise DIO Burger’s tremendous potential.
Differing from its competitor, DIO Burger gives diners vast freedom in customising and assembling their burgers in any way that pleases their palates most.
Begin by choosing a bun –whole grain for a healthier option, brioche for a tinge of sweetness, or lettuce-wrap for a low-carbohydrate option. Patty options include the never-frozen wagyu beef, grilled chuck beef, chicken thigh, pork ribs and pacific fish.
The endless supply of toppings and condiments include salad greens, mango salsa, pineapple slices, pickles, tomatoes, olives and more. That’s where we “Do It Ourselves”, piling onto our burgers with whatever tickles our fancy. Even after you’ve finished your burger, you may proceed to picking up more salad to nibble on till you call it a day.
Sauces include spicy cheese sauce, cheese sauce, honey mustard, barbecue and mayonnaise.
Thanks to the free-flow self-service condiment bar, I have discovered a new favourite combination: mango salsa, cheese sauce and fries.
Drinks are free-flow –another reason to dwell in its premises.
Movies screened throughout the day will give you a third reason to linger longer.
Burger of the month – Beef Cheeks Burger ($15.80)
The burger of the month – Beef Cheeks Burger – is particularly outstanding, flavour and texture-wise both hitting the right spots. Hopefully it will stay on the menu as a regular item.
DIO Mega Burger ($29.80)
The DIO Mega Burger would be an obvious choice for the ravenous. This towering structure comprises wagyu beef, pork ribs, chicken thigh and cheddar cheese –basically the varieties available on the menu compiled into a single burger.
Fish Bites ($6.80 for 8 pieces)
As for sides, the Fish Bites are decently scrumptious – moist and juicy chunks with a delightfully crisp breaded coating.
Onion Rings ($4.80)
The Onion Rings is a must-order. Juicy thick slices of onion of gargantuan diameter are lightly battered and deep-fried to an irresistible crisp.
