Poulet Diane ($17.90)
Poulét, best known for its succulent and juicy roasted chicken, has refashioned the entire French dining scene in Singapore since its opening last year, making French cuisine more accessible and affordable to the mass. (Read about my first dining experience here: https://melicacy.com/?p=4537)
In celebration of its second anniversary, Poulét launches new exciting dishes to add to perennial favourites in its revamped menu. Also, previous promotional items that were overwhelmingly popular – such as the Truffle Mashed Potato and Peach Clafoutis – are now permanent fixtures in the menu.
Salad de Canard Fume ($12.90)
The Salad de Canard Fume is a succession from the well-loved Salad de Paris that we adored since its opening, incorporating a more substantial meat element to the otherwise vegetarian-focused salad. Building from the foundation of chopped garden salad, tomato and roasted pine nuts, the orange wedges pair beautifully with the smoked duck slices. With the finishing touch of raspberry dressing, this salad delights with sweet, tangy, savoury nutty and refreshing flavours.
Country Side Mushroom Soup ($5.90)
The Country Side Mushroom Soup is an all-time favourite, rich of earthy mushroom flavour with wild mushrooms coarsely blended into the creamy Idaho potato-laced soup.
Halibut Goujonette ($9.90)
This is no run-of-the-mill ‘fish fingers’. Succulent halibut fillet strips are coated in breadcrumbs and fried till crispy and golden brown.
Pissaladiere de Poulet ($12.90)
Pissaladiere, also known as the French pizza, is an oven-baked open-faced pastry topped with caramelised onion jam, black olives and your choice of toppings. Making a welcomed addition to the new menu, here it comes with shredded chicken ($12.90), smoked duck slices ($13.90) or mushroom ($11.90). The crust is light, fluffy and flaky, hugely contrasting to the dense bread-like crust on Italian pizzas.
Poulet Diane ($17.90 for half, $30.90 for whole)
A visit to Poulét is never complete without an order of roasted chicken. The Poulet Diane is a new variant served with brown sauce, bacon and mushrooms. What we always love about Poulét never disappoints; fresh poultry is brined for a full day then placed in a rotisserie for a slow roast, yielding a tanned golden brown skin with succulent juicy meat.
Order the thick and creamy Truffle Mashed Potato ($5.90) to go with it.
Halibut en Papillote ($17.90)
Fish lovers will too be pleased with the Halibut en Papillote, Halibut fillet baked to perfect tenderness in parchment paper with white wine sauce, accompanied by garden greens.
Peach Clafoutis ($7.90)
The Peach Clafoutis is a rustic French-baked dessert, soft and fluffy with a peach stuffing. Here it is served with vanilla ice cream that contrasts the warm dessert beneath.
Crème Brulee ($8.90)
Another French classic, the Crème Brulee is done decently here with a crispy caramelised sugar coating and smooth egg custard well infused with Tahiti vanilla pod.
