English Afternoon Tea at L’Espresso of Goodwood Park Hotel

Set within the premises of the iconic Goodwood Park Hotela reputable pioneer in Singapore’s tourism industry with history dating back to 1900L’Espresso has earned a reputation as being synonymous with elegant teatime pursuits.

The English Afternoon Tea buffet is a main attraction at L’Espresso. Available daily, a dazzling host of dainty sandwiches, salads, savouries, pastries, desserts, chocolate fountain and traditional English scones will fill tummies between conversations and tea (or coffee).

Nibble on dainty bites such as Slow-cooked Farm Chicken in Crepe, Roast Beef with Cornichons, Smoked Salmon with Beetroot Mousse and Caviar, Poached Prawn with Pineapple and Avocado Salsa, Brie with Grape on Maple Crostini, Nicoise Tartlet with Tuna Tataki, and Foie Gras Terrine with Coated Pistachios and Cranberry Compote (a top pick).

Breads (wholemeal and white) and croissants are freshly baked in-house. Guests will be spoilt for choice with L’Espresso’s ever-popular finger sandwiches and tantalising fillings.

The Duck Rilette and homemade dips go hand in hand with the freshly baked focaccia and ciabatta breads.


Croissants: Prawn and Egg Salad; Honey Roasted Ham and Cheddar Cheese

Finger sandwiches include Turkey Ham with Dried Pear and Celery, Egg and Tomato with Swiss Bacon, Grilled Eggplant, Zucchini and Red Capsicum with Pesto, Tuna Mayonnaise with Celery, Semi-dried Tomato with Emmental Cheese, Spicy Crabmeat Salad with Tobiko, Chicken Ham with Portobello Mushroom, Smoked Pork Kassler with Melted Onions, and Smoked Chicken with Tomato and Lettuce.

The charcuterie selection includes German Black Forest Ham and Rosette Salami.

Plain, blueberry and raspberry scones are available, along with assorted jams, Devonshire clotted cream and butter. The scones are freshly baked in the open-concept kitchen behind the buffet counter.

Hot Savouries include the Braised Kurobuta Pork served with Hungarian sweet praprika brioche, Mini Fish Goujons with Goma Dressing, Chicken Karaage, Lasagnette with Ratatouille, Shepherd’s Pie or Seafood Pie, and Slow Roasted Tomato Tart with Thyme and Crumbled Feta.

The Hot Smoked Salmon with Horseradish Cream is a highlight, delighting with a crust of herbs and breadcrumbs.

The L’Espresso afternoon tea experience is not complete without desserts.

Perennial favourites include the Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, Crème Brulee, Vanilla and Orange Panna Cotta, Chestnut Cherry Slice, Earl Grey Cake, Passionfruit Meringue Tartlet, and Orange Chiboust Frangipan. New favourites include the Tiramisu, Mango Yogurt Dream and Sago Gula Melaka.

Guests can also enjoy a range of ice creams, French pastries and fresh fruits.

The Chocolate Corner shows off the Chocolate Fountain, Trio of Chocolate Mousse, Dulcey Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Crunchy Hazelnut Dome, Assorted Pralines and Truffles.

Priced at $45 per adult and $22.50 per child, the English Afternoon Tea buffet includes two servings of coffee and tea from a selection of premium and TWG tea. Perk up the afternoon with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne at $68 per adult, or top up with a bottle of the same champagne at $125.
