The Bosch Dream Kitchen

Cooking appliances that feature state-of-the-art aesthetics and functionalities –who doesn’t want that?

Ever since I ventured into food journalism, I’ve gained lots of culinary insights; stellar dining experiences undoubtedly amplified my interest in the kitchen.

I was never the kid who started cooking at a tender age. I’m tremendously jealous of the talented kids from Junior Masterchef. My parents are busy with work, and having home-cooked meals together are rare occasions.

I’ve never undergone professional culinary training, neither do I have an exceptional trained palate that detects the precise chemical compounds found in a single morsel –all I know is that I have an immense passion for food, and my learning capacity is infinite. I am a keen learner. I do not aspire to be a Michelin-star chef; all I want is to cook with my heart, and enjoy food with my loved ones.

My current kitchen is about 15 years old. The built-in oven has broken down (as much as I’d love to learn how to bake, there’s just this little I can do without an oven); the stoves aren’t at its prime anymore… we can’t figure out what went wrong, but it takes longer than usual to ignite a flame; the fridge… we’ve been contemplating changing it but procrastination just took over… the rubber strip that keeps the door sealed is worn out, leaving little gaps for cool air to escape at times.

I would really love to have a properly equipped kitchen –not only for its aesthetics but also for the functionality that could kick up my cooking skills up a notch. The current kitchen that we have… simply limits my learning potential.

A brand new kitchen would also bring the family closer… somewhere my parents can look forward to coming home, spend a little time cooking together, having a nice cosy meal together… Friends who come over for potluck will also be able to have more fun in the kitchen.

Would you care to spare a vote for Mum and I in the Bosch Dream Kitchen Cookoff contest? The top 4 groups with the highest votes will get to cook and compete to win the dream kitchen; voting ends 1 November 2012.

Vote for us (Team 3) here: http://www.boschdreamkitchen.com/cookOff.html?teamid=3#.UH-Vv8Wsh8E

Every vote counts, and we appreciate your support.

Mum and I have never cooked together in the kitchen (other than in the audition video), and this will be an experience of a lifetime.

Vote for your favourite blogger to win the Tefal Blendforce Glass worth $79.90!

The month-long Tefal campaign is slowly coming to a close, but this is only the very beginning of my cooking and experimentation with Tefal appliances. For someone who once relied heavily on convenience products for quick fix meals, I’ve learnt so much from this experience and I never knew I could create so many dishes from scratch.

Here are some of the beverages and dishes I made using the Tefal Blendforce Glass.

The Tefal Blendforce Glass comes with a mini chopper too! You can use it to blend nuts into fine powder, or make chilli pastes with it.

The top blogger (determined by number of votes and judges’ scoring) gets to win Tefal appliances worth $350! I would really love to win the products and churn out more delicious recipes to share with you! If you enjoy my posts, do cast your vote for me, Melissa. :)

Best of luck to my fellow participating blogger friends! I like Moonberry’s Sambal Sauce recipe and would try making that one day! :)
